News of the World e Sound of Metal  guidano le nomination per i lungometraggi della 68esima edizione del Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards, con tre nomination ciascuno.

Sound of Metal , la storia di un batterista che sta perdendo l’udito, e il Western Notizie dal mondo sono entrambi nominati nelle categorie lungometraggi di effetti e Foley, dialoghi e ADR e sottolineatura musicale.

Greyhound, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, The Midnight Sky, Tenet, The Trial of the Chicago 7 e Wonder Woman 1984 hanno ricevuto ciascuno due nomination nelle categorie di lungometraggi.

Un anno fa, Ford v Ferrari ha vinto il Golden Reel Award per gli effetti e Foley, in viaggio per vincere un Oscar nell’editing del suono, quest’anno, gli Academy Awards per il sound editing e il sound mixing sono stati nuovamente combinati in un’unica categoria per il miglior suono.

Nel 2020, il film  1917, che ha vinto un Golden Reel Award per il dialogo e l’ADR, ha vinto il BAFTA per il miglior suono, che combina montaggio e missaggio del suono.

Le nomination per i Cinema Audio Society Awards, che onorano l’eccezionale mixaggio del suono, saranno annunciate martedì. Un anno fa,  Ford v Ferrari ha vinto il CAS Award per un lungometraggio.

Gli MPSE Golden Reel Awards di quest’anno, che comprendono 22 categorie che coprono lungometraggi, TV, attività interattiva e lavoro degli studenti, saranno presentati durante una cerimonia virtuale il 16 aprile alle 18:00 PT.
