Tyler Perry, Jennifer Lopez e altri vincitori del 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards hanno condiviso messaggi di ispirazione e positività in un anno dominato dalla pandemia e sulla scia di un’elezione presidenziale controversa che ha richiesto giorni per essere convocata.
Demi Lovato ha presentato lo spettacolo, trasmesso in diretta dal Barker Hangar di Santa Monica. Al posto di un pubblico dal vivo, Lovato è uscita sul palco circondata da schermi video di persone che guardavano a casa. Li chiamava “superfan da tutto il paese” che facevano parte della sezione VIP: “Virtual in Person”. Questi fan stanno anche aiutando a presentare i premi rivelando i nomi del vincitore.
Ha anche notato che i premi vengono votati dai fan e scherzato, in riferimento alle recenti elezioni presidenziali: “Non preoccuparti, ci siamo assicurati di contare prima ogni voto in Pennsylvania”. Scherzando sulla pandemia, ha aggiunto che “quest’anno sono stati i tre anni più lunghi della mia vita”.
La prima vincitrice ad essere rivelata è stata Tiffany Haddish, che è stata nominata star del cinema femminile del 2020 per la sua interpretazione in Like a Boss, mentre altri primi vincitori includevano Mandy Moore (star televisiva drammatica dell’anno per This Is Us ) e Blake Shelton (country). artista del 2020).
Gli artisti durante i People’s Choice Awards includevano Justin Bieber, che ha cantato “Lonely” e “Holy”, e Chloe x Halle con “Ungodly Hour”.
