La Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) ha annunciato candidati per l’eccellenza nella progettazione della produzione di lungometraggi e programmi televisivi per il 2018.
Tra i film nominati in tre categorie – periodo storico, fantastico e contemporaneo – l’antologia occidentale dei fratelli Coen ” La ballata di Buster Scruggs “, ha colpito il biopic di Freddie Mercury “Bohemian Rhapsody,” il blockbuster Marvel ” Black Panther ” e lo spettacolare film con Tom Cruise “Mission: Impossible – Fallout”.
Per quanto riguarda la televisione, i nominati comprendono il grande successo di Netflix “Hill House” “, l’Hulu ispirato a Stephen King “Castle Rock”, “Sharp Objects” della HBO con Amy Adams e l’acclamato episodio di FX di “Atlanta”
In precedenza annunciato, il regista di “Mary Poppins Returns” Rob Marshall riceverà il premio per le immagini cinematografiche di ADG. In procinto di entrare nella Hall of Fame: lo scenografo e set decorator britannico Anthony Masters (“2001: A Space Odyssey”) e Benjamin Carre (“Il fantasma dell’opera”, “Il mago di Oz”). Il premio alla carriera sarà assegnato anche allo scenografo Jeannine Oppewall, all’illustratore e scenografo Ed Verreaux, all’artista scenico Jim Fiorito e allo scenografo e direttore artistico William F. Matthews.
I vincitori nelle categorie competitive verranno annunciati al 23 ° Annual Art Directors Guild Awards il 2 febbraio.
